about my contribute

I just want to let you know that due to my blog being not as full as i wanted
I was sick for 3 weeks and had a medical certificate to prove that was not
healthy enaugh to do work and i also had a car accident the weekend before,
i wasn't feet enough to do a lot of work on blog but i attended classes and i
did my best to contact group members to update me with our expending ideas.
I have given you my book,that also has my ideas,group discutions and drawings
that i wasn't able to upload on my blog.

CLASS APPRAISAL

What we learnt:

-Flash is annoying
-Create something huge with potential with low budget
-All works better together good to recognise peoples skills and take advantage of them
-Andy Blood was good
-Learnt how to define target audience- get them to you.
-Learnt new software
-make advertising that people will latch on to and brand themselves.

What we might/ would do differently:

-have a creative director- otherwise too many ideas and optain project.
-More established hierachy- someone who has final say.
-more creative brainstorms e.g Promo brainstorms.
-Maybe split into two class groups- inspire competition.

How well did we collaborate:

-More group discussion- felt as if groups were separate- could be because of shear amounts
of people involved.

-Some groups felt like they learnt more than others, others had more opportunity to learn.

04/10/07 FINAL IDEA

PRE LAUNCH

We talked about taking photos of people as our pre launch.
This would get people interested and want to visit our site
which is where they can get their picture from.

The idea is to go to uni open days and take the photos.

THE LAUNCH

We based on them giving us their e-mail address so we
can send them their photos.

The idea of the photo was to skew it, to make it look weird.

FOR THE MAINTAINING

We talked about visiting schools or design schools.

Cara had an idea with a small box. It was the concept
of thinking outside the square. She found images of
some girl that inspired her.

20/09/07 SKEW THE WORLD WITH LIGHT BULBS

We had an idea to have skew stickers on light bulbs and hand them
in to people on Queen street. The reason we came out with the idea
of using a light bulb is because the light bulb represents the idea,
we are trying to get people to get the idea of skewing the world.
We choose Queen street in Auckland because tha is the main
street, a good place to meet people of all ages.

As a group we decided to make a short video or a animated ad
with a person drawing. We only wanted to show the hand movement
on paper, writting 'skew the world' or 'get skewed'. Cara and I on Saturday the 22 we took still picture of me drawing
on a pad and were going to do a story board but after our presentation to the class, we ended up not doing that idea.

I also found a short you tube movie that inspired me, i like the idea
of having the light bulb transform into something else.

Corporate Branding

HOW TO PROMOTE YOUR BRAND
Once we created our corporate brand we need to promote it to
our target audience. The way we communicate our brand could
be the difference between failure and success.

Our corporate brand could be the best in the world -great visuals,
clever tag line and lots of built-in brand values and principles, all
that will be wasted if we don't promote it properly.

How to promote your brands.

Banner Adds

There are a few banner adds that we can use, like STATIC, ANIMATED, FLASH OR HTML.

STATIC BANNER ADDS
Can be very effective, especially if you intend to add a subtle ad to a good content page.
In this case, a static add may be less intrusive and therefore not regarded as annoying
but as offering a valuable addition to the content presented.

ANIMATED BANNER ADDS
Can be read and displayed by all standard browsers, allowing you to grab the attention of your audience.
They can display several different images in succession, sometimes to create the effect of animated motion.
Constructed in the right way, animated banner ads can draw instant attention of your audience and emphasize
your message.

FLASH BANNER ADS
Flash banner adds give you a lot more freedom of visually conveying your message.
The samll file size and flexibility of these ads means there are virtually no limits of what you can do.

HTTML BANNER ADS
Are often used for menus, search boxes or full page pop under ads, allowing interaction before the
visitor even reaches the destination site. It might draw response from visitors who do not normally
click on graphical banners.

My idea is to have an ANIMATED BANNER AD
It will allow us to draw queek attention to our audience. I also think it is a good way to emphasize
our message.

02/09/07 Sundays Meeting

We had a group meeting and agreed on a central idea.

Our Central idea : SKEW THE WORLD
Skew what everyone else has done
Skew changed the perception of things

Seeing one thing but its actually something else.

As an example:

-Looks like a tree but then you zoom out and its something else.
-Old transforming into the new (innovation)

Pre-launch:

Open days at universities - Fashion week etc
A good idea would be to take people's photos and hand them a card with the Skew website on it.
We would upload it on our website, people can come to it and view their picture.

Launch:

Go to the website-click on their picture- fill in their e-mail details.
We decided to e-mail them their photo and put a link on the e-mail to make it easier for them to come back to our website.
